Indian batting opener Shubman Gill said on Saturday that it was not possible to notch fifty or century in every game.
Expressing his thoughts ahead of the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand, Gill said: “I am playing in my second ICC event. There remains pressure of the big game. The team that handles pressure well emerges victorious.”
He said: “It is easy to say but handling the pressure is a big deal. The current Indian batting lineup is great.”
Gill stated: “There is no importance of the toss. As a player, you get ready for the batting. “
“It is important to deliver in the big games,” he said.
Recalling the defeat against Australia in the World Cup 2023 final, Gill said: “We lost the final of 2023 World Cup.”
“Everybody is boosting each other’s morale in the team,” he maintained.
He said: “No talks have been held about Rohit Sharma’s retirement. Right now our focus is to win the Champions Trophy.”
“Maybe Rohit Sharma will take any decision in this regard following tomorrow’s match,” said Gill.
