Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, a senior officer of the Pakistan Air Force, became an overnight social media sensation following his appearance during a recent ISPR press conference.
Representing Air Chief Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu, the 53-year-old officer caught public attention for his composed demeanour, articulate speech, and sharp presence. However, what began as admiration soon spiralled into flirty comments and inappropriate memes, prompting public figures to step in.
The hype peaked after reports surfaced of the Pakistan Air Force successfully downing Indian fighter jets, a victory that kept AVM Aurangzeb in the spotlight. But the nature of online discourse quickly shifted, with many women on social media making flirtatious and, at times, inappropriate remarks.
In response, several celebrities and media personalities expressed concern. A well-known TV host emphasized the importance of maintaining respect, “It’s perfectly fine to praise someone’s intelligence or presence, but dragging a married Air Force officer into distasteful memes crosses the line.”
Fiza Khawar, known for her public insights, echoed similar sentiments. Sharing a Pakistan Air Force post, she remarked, “Pakistani women should calm down. Making sexual or unethical jokes about our officers is beyond comprehension.”
Actress Dania Enwer added to the chorus of concern, calling out the online romanticization of a man in uniform and reminding the public that real-life respect matters more than online fantasy.
While many women have defended the posts as “lighthearted admiration,” a growing number of netizens have also urged each other to remember the dignity of uniformed officers and the personal lives they lead behind the scenes.
