Pakistan’s security forces killed 14 terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed militant group Fitna-ul-Khawarij in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on the night of June 2 and 3 after credible intelligence confirmed the presence of the Indian-sponsored proxy group in the region. A fierce gun battle ensued, during which the hideout of the terrorists was successfully targeted and neutralized.
A clearance operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area, the ISPR said, adding that the security forces remain committed to rooting out terrorism and ensuring the safety of the country.
“Our forces are determined to completely eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism from Pakistani soil,” the ISPR spokesperson stated.
PM, leaders commend security forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the successful operation, hailing the professional capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces.
“The enemies of humanity will never succeed in their evil designs. The government and security institutions remain united and determined in the fight against terrorism,” he said.
Federal Minister for Communications and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Abdul Aleem Khan, also lauded the security forces, calling the operation a strong message to India and its proxies.
“The destruction of Indian-sponsored Fitna-ul-Hindustan is part of our continuous effort under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. Our forces are defeating the enemy at the borders and within,” said Aleem Khan.
He emphasized the nation’s unwavering support for the armed forces, noting that “the loyalty of our security institutions is beyond question.”
