Trump may impose sanctions on Russia if necessary: White House

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Donald Trump may impose sanctions on Russia if the need arises.

During a news briefing, Leavitt said that the Gaza Relief Foundation was established to deliver food aid to Palestinians and acknowledged reports of gunfire targeting individuals waiting for assistance. She said that President Trump was not previously aware of the Ukrainian drone attack on Russia but remains hopeful about a potential resolution to end the war in Ukraine.

She said that President Trump will attend the upcoming NATO summit, adding that the United States was currently engaged in favourable trade agreements with several countries.

Leavitt maintained that President Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has submitted a proposal to Iran regarding a nuclear agreement. “Should Iran reject the proposal, it will face serious consequences,” she added.
