Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is facing severe backlash from the Indian film fraternity, particularly the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), over reports that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir features in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.
The controversy erupted following the tragic attack in Pahalgam in India-held Kashmir in April, which claimed 26 civilian lives and prompted a renewed ban on Pakistani artists working in India. FWICE strongly condemned the alleged inclusion of Hania Aamir, along with other Pakistani artists such as Nasir Chinyoti, Danial Khawar, and Saleem Albela, in the film.
FWICE President BN Tiwari warned that any Indian artist found collaborating with Pakistani talent would be deemed non-cooperative and potentially branded a traitor. He further stated that those who defy the industry’s collective stance risk being blacklisted.
In an escalated move, FWICE has written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), urging them to deny certification to Sardaar Ji 3 over national security concerns tied to the post-Pahalgam sentiment.
Speculation around Hania Aamir’s involvement intensified after Dosanjh posted behind-the-scenes photos from the film set. Although Hania was not clearly visible, social media users noted striking similarities and pointed out the rumored presence of other Pakistani actors. In response to the growing uproar, Dosanjh attempted to clarify the situation by sharing related content, but the backlash has continued.
