France to provide €12m grant to Pakistan for urban development

An agreement has been finalised between the Government of Pakistan and the French Development Agency (AFD), under which France will provide a grant of €12 million to Pakistan.

According to the spokesperson for the Economic Affairs Division (EAD), the agreement was signed by the Secretary of Economic Affairs, the French ambassador, and the director of AFD. The grant is funded by the European Union (EU) and will be administered through the French Development Agency.

The project has aimed to enhance the quality of services provided by the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) in Lahore and Faisalabad. Additionally, it will support the implementation of an effective regulatory framework for the Housing Department.
