Talented actor Faizan Khawaja has said he has not quitted showbiz, but has stopped doing work with the organisations who do not make payments to their artists and actors on time.
Speaking candidly, Faizan shared: “I say this with profound grief and deep regret — seniors like Muhammad Ahmed and Mehreen Jabbar, have to beg for their own money.
“People are making digital headlines saying I exposed showbiz — I didn’t expose anyone. I simply spoke the truth. And trust me, I’m not doing this to go viral.
“I’m not looking for followers. Humaira Asghar had 700K followers — what did they do for her?”
He recalled troubling experiences, saying: “I once did a commercial and literally had to beg for my payment. I decided never to do commercials again. But even when my drama and film were successful, I was offered another commercial — and the experience was the same.”
Faizan clarified that he isn’t owed any money personally, emphasising: “This isn’t about me. It’s about all the people who aren’t being paid for their work.”
He continued: “I didn’t quit acting — I just stopped working with people who don’t pay on time. It’s been five years since my last drama. The problem is, you have to chase producers just to get the money you rightfully earned.”
Faizan explained that his motivation in speaking out is to support struggling actors whose livelihoods depend on the industry — many of whom are facing similar challenges in silence.
Fans have widely praised Faizan Khawaja for raising his voice. Many expressed their support and a strong desire to see him back on television.
Faizan Khawaja, a talented Pakistani television and film actor, is best known for his roles in hit dramas like Aik Nai Cinderella, Dulhan, Jaal, Ishq Tamasha, Tu Ishq Hai, Saudai, Qismat, and more.
The son of veteran film and TV producer Rashid Khawaja — who introduced several successful actors, including Sami Khan — Faizan has also earned acclaim for his performance in the short film Twisted Sapnay alongside Zubab Rana.
Despite gaining recognition and praise for his performances, Faizan has largely stepped away from acting in recent years due to what he describes as the deeply unprofessional environment within Pakistan’s television, fashion, and film industries.
