LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has stated that there is no place for drug dealers in the province, and narcotics will soon be eradicated from Punjab.
A formal inauguration ceremony for the Punjab Counter-Narcotics Force was held in Lahore, where the chief minister attended as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz presented the force’s flag to an officer and inspected the parade.
Addressing the event, CM Maryam Nawaz said that the establishment of a strong counter-narcotics force in a short period is commendable. A zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against drug dealers.
She emphasised that eliminating drugs is essential for securing future generations, and Punjab will soon be drug-free.
“Eradicating drugs from educational institutions is a must, and drug dealers have no place in Punjab. There will no longer be any compromises on long-standing issues,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz further said that all possible steps will be taken to rid Punjab of drugs, and the Counter-Narcotics Force is being made operational across all divisions.
The chief minister also mentioned that a Crimes Control Department has been established in the police, leading to a notable decline in crime rates.
Criminals are now apologizing with the Quran in hand and repenting in mosques. She added that an anti-encroachment force will also soon begin operations in Punjab.
