Following the cancellation of bail by an anti-terrorism court in cases related to the May 9 incidents, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to approach the Supreme Court for relief.
The decision comes after Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard a petition filed by the PTI founder’s sister, Aleema Khan, in the Rawalpindi ATC.
The petition stated that the jail administration is obstructing the process of obtaining signatures on a power of attorney, which are necessary to file an appeal in the Supreme Court.
Filed by Advocate Faisal Malik, the petition emphasized the urgency of submitting appeals before August.
The court, responding to Aleema Khan’s plea, directed jail authorities to ensure the PTI founder signs the legal documents by the end of the day and to submit a report by tomorrow.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 30.
