Joe Root becomes third-highest run-scorer in Tests

England ace batter Joe Root has registered himself as the third-highest run-scorer in the history of Tests against India on day three of the 4th Test at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Friday.

According to details, Root has surpassed the run tally of South African ace all-rounder Jacques Kallis and Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid.

 

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has dominated the list with staggering 15,291 runs in 200 Tests, scoring 51 tons and 68 centuries. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has scored 13,378 runs with an average of 51.85, smashing 41 centuries and 62 fifties.

Jacques Kallis has compiled 13,289 runs in 166 matches with a great average of 55.37, bagging 45 tonnes and smashing 58 fifties. Rahul Dravid has amassed 13,288 runs in 164 matches with a handy average of 52.31, notching 36 centuries and 63 fifties.
