Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah shared pictures of a defamation notice that she has served on fellow actor Minsa Malik, alleging her of malicious and harmful conduct.
It remains unconfirmed whether Shah has sent the notice yet or Malik has received it.
The legal document, addressed to “Momna Maqsood aka Minsa Malik,” accuses Malik of defamatory actions, including using derogatory language against Shah on a public platform and admitting to physically assaulting her.
The notice claims Malik’s statements and actions have damaged Shah’s professional reputation and violated defamation laws. It further alleges that Malik circulated a retracted application falsely implicating Shah in misconduct, continuing to spread it to tarnish her reputation in the movie industry fraternity and society.
According to the notice, Malik also spread misinformation within the production community, accusing Shah of disruptive behavior on set, leading to professional setbacks, including lost opportunities.
These actions, the notice states, constitute “character assassination” and intentional reputational harm.
Shah demands that Malik immediately cease defamatory actions, remove all related content from public platforms, and issue a written public apology within 48 hours.
Failure to comply will lead Shah to pursue a Rs1 billion lawsuit, file a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and initiate criminal defamation charges under Section 500 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as a civil suit for damages under the Defamation Ordinance, 2002. Legal action is set to begin after seven days if demands are unmet.
