ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has confirmed that the former prime minister’s sons – Kasim and Sulaiman Khan – have formally applied for visas to visit Pakistan.
Taking to social media platform X, Aleema revealed that the application was submitted to the Pakistan High Commission in London a few days ago.
She added that the commission has informed the family that it is still awaiting approval from the Ministry of Interior.
Sulaiman Khan, 28, and Kasim Khan, 26, are expected to visit Pakistan as part of a broader campaign for their father’s release. In May this year, the two sons publicly voiced their concern over the PTI founder’s incarceration for the first time.
Aleema Khan had earlier stated that the brothers would travel to the United States before making their way to Pakistan. Their anticipated visit is seen as a significant step in mobilising support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.
The timing of their visa application comes amid increased efforts by PTI supporters to advocate for Imran Khan’s release. Sulaiman and Kasim’s initial public statement in May drew widespread attention, as both had previously remained out of the political spotlight.
Now, with plans reportedly in motion, all eyes are on the Ministry of Interior’s response to their visa request.
In a development following Aleema Khan’s statement, the Pakistan High Commission in London has expressed unawareness regarding any such visa request made by Imran Khan’s sons.
Officials clarified that there is no need to contact the High Commission for visa applications, as the entire process is conducted online. All visa requests, they added, are submitted directly to Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior through the online portal.
