ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif revealed that more than half of country’s bureaucrats have already acquired property in Portugal and now preparing to obtain citizenship.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, Khawaja Asif said that these well-known and prominent bureaucrats have embezzled billions of rupees and are now living a peaceful retired life abroad.
He said that one of closest bureaucrats of former chief minister Usman Buzdar had received four billion rupees just in wedding gifts (salami) at his daughters’ weddings and is now enjoying a relaxed retired life.
Talking about the politicians, Khawaja Asif said that they [politicians] only get the leftovers. They neither have plots nor foreign citizenship because they have to contest elections.
