Pakistan’s cricketers made significant gains in the ICC T20I rankings following a strong performance in their recent three-match series against the West Indies.
Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz rose 24 places to 30th with 569 rating points after scoring 79 runs in the series. Saim Ayub, the top scorer of the series with 130 runs and two half-centuries, climbed 25 spots to 37th with 559 points.
Fellow opener Sahibzada Farhan jumped 34 places to 63rd after scoring 91 runs.
Captain Salman Ali Agha and veteran Fakhar Zaman also improved, moving up 15 and three spots to 76th and 78th, respectively. However, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, inactive in T20Is since 2024, slipped to 17th and 19th. Struggling wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris fell 21 places to 86th.
India’s Abhishek Sharma retained the top batting spot, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Varma.
In bowling, no Pakistani features in the top 20. Haris Rauf remained at 26th, while Abbas Afridi dropped to 27th. Sufiyan Muqeem jumped 69 places to 34th, and Mohammad Nawaz rose 51 places to 56th. Shaheen Afridi slipped to 36th, while Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan dropped to 60th and 72nd.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy leads the bowling rankings, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein.
Among all-rounders, Shadab Khan dropped to 19th. Saim Ayub made a dramatic 70-place leap to 24th, and Mohammad Nawaz rose to 36th. Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf moved to 70th and 77th, respectively.
India’s Hardik Pandya continues to top the all-rounders list, with Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi close behind.
