Separate immigration counters established for foreign nationals

Separate immigration counters for foreign travellers have been established at Karachi International Airport, in line with similar arrangements at all other international airports across the country.

Sources divulged on Wednesday that these newly established counters aim to prevent unnecessary delays during immigration clearance. Similar facilities have also been introduced at Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Sialkot airports.

Authorities said that these measures will provide greater ease and efficiency for foreign tourists, investors and business delegations. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to promote tourism, trade and foreign investment in Pakistan.

The immigration process for returning Pakistani nationals is also expected to become faster and more streamlined as a result of these developments. Officials have confirmed that the objective is to raise immigration services to meet international standards.

These steps are being taken under the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as part of a wider programme to improve the immigration system through practical reforms.
