ISLAMABAD: PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has stated that the government cannot stop Imran Khan’s sons from coming to Pakistan.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Aleema said, “There are several cases against us, and we won’t be granted bail here. Arrest warrants have been issued against me in a murder case. If they want to arrest me, they will. These are all baseless cases. My crime is delivering Imran Khan’s message to the people. Is it a crime to share Imran Khan’s message?”
She added, “We will even tell the judge that he is under pressure. Even police officers admit they are under pressure. Throw out these fake cases and become heroes—the nation will stand by you. We’re constantly traveling between Rawalpindi and Lahore for cases. If we’re guilty, punish us. If not, give us justice.”
Aleema stated that poor people travel 8 to 9 hours to attend hearings and also help others. “Call everyone at once and either prove their crimes or let them go. Confidence in the judicial system has eroded. Judges must restore it.”
She said a political demonstration will also be held on August 14. “Muslims sacrificed for independence on August 14. It wasn’t achieved in a day—2.5 million people laid down their lives. Imran Khan doesn’t want freedom for himself, he wants it for the nation. The public didn’t get independence on August 14; the elite deceived them.”
Speaking about Imran Khan’s sons, she said, “Kasim and Sulaiman have NICOPs but not ID cards. Both have applied for visas on their British passports. The government cannot stop them from coming to Pakistan.”
She added, “We will contact the embassy again today for visas. If not granted, Sulaiman and Kasim will keep trying. If they apply for cards, the government will delay them for six months. We’ll even contact Talal Chaudhry for visa assistance. The interior ministry says this is the foreign ministry’s domain.”
Aleema further said, “On August 5, the nation broke the idols of fear. We sit peacefully outside Adiala Jail without breaking the law, sometimes for hours, yet we are not allowed to meet (Imran Khan). I will not seek interim bail in the murder case.”
Earlier, Aleema Khan appeared before an anti-terrorism court in the November 26 protest case registered at Sadiqabad police station. Lawyers accompanied her, and the court extended her interim bail until August 25.
