ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has said that Israel’s expansionist actions will push the region towards tension, and Pakistan supports a just two-state solution.
During the weekly media briefing, the spokesperson said that the President of Iran paid an important visit to Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned Israeli aggression during his meeting with the Iranian President, who appreciated Pakistan’s support against Israeli aggression.
He added that the Iranian President also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and both sides agreed to increase bilateral trade. The Iranian President visited Pakistan on the Prime Minister’s invitation and thanked Pakistan for its support against Israeli aggression.
He further informed that the Iranian President and Foreign Minister also met Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who emphasized a just and two-state solution to the Palestine issue. Pakistan has dispatched a new relief consignment for Gaza today — the 18th shipment — on the Prime Minister’s directive.
Shafqat Ali Khan said the relief items include food rations, edibles, and medicines. This continued support reflects Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Gaza. Pakistan strongly condemns the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli authorities.
He also stated that Israel’s expansionist actions will escalate regional tensions and are against UN resolutions.
The spokesperson added that Pakistan supports a peaceful, dialogue-based resolution to the Ukraine conflict and rejects Ukraine’s allegations of Pakistani involvement in the war. So far, Ukrainian authorities have not contacted Pakistan regarding the accusation.
The Foreign Office clarified that Pakistan seeks a resolution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and will continue its political, diplomatic, and moral support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The Deputy Prime Minister has written to the UN urging a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute. Pakistan has defended its sovereignty firmly during the struggle for truth.
