ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar Thursday said the government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) achieved numerous successes in the economic field and now the Pakistani economy was moving in the right direction.
He was speaking at a ceremony at Hazrat Bari Imam Shrine.
Pakistan became the 24th biggest economy in the year 2017, he said adding, “However later on the economic conditions deteriorated and people suffered because of inflation.”
“Pakistan will become a dignified nation in the comity of nations,” he stressed.
“Our goal is to bring Pakistan to the ranks of G-20 countries,” he said adding, “Pakistan is bestowed with immense mineral resources.”
“Pakistan has mineral resources worth hundreds of billions of rupees. Steps were being taken to explore these resources hidden in the earth,” he informed.
According to a survey, Pakistan has the fourth largest gas reserves in the world and has resources of gold, copper and precious stones, he remarked.
The DPM said in the era of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government, the country was saved from economic bankruptcy.
He mentioned that Pakistan was diplomatically isolated during the period of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
He said Pakistan achieved great success in the war against India. India’s plans to create hegemony in the region were shattered, he added.
He lauded the role of mystics in the spread of Islam.
