Rice price witnesses exorbitant increase in Lahore

The price of rice has witnessed whooping hike in Lahore, increasing by Rs55 per kilogram, according to a newly issued official notification concerning essential food items.

In contrast, several other staple goods have seen a reduction in price. The price of chana dal (special) has dropped by Rs20, now set at Rs275 per kilogram.

The rate of washed mash dal has declined by Rs40, with a new price of Rs410 per kilogram. A significant decrease of Rs60 has been recorded in the price of moong dal, which now stands at Rs325 per kilogram.

Gram flour (besan) has become cheaper by Rs30, now priced at Rs270 per kilogram. Black chana has witnessed a Rs20 reduction, bringing the price down to Rs260 per kilogram.

White gram (Kabuli chana) is now available at Rs295 per kilogram, following a Rs15 decrease.
