Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt has shared a thought-provoking post on Instagram, sparking conversations about family, respect, and mental peace.
In her Instagram Story, Trishala wrote that being related by blood does not automatically make someone deserving of a place in one’s life.
She explained that sometimes the most exhausting and neglectful people are those labeled as “family.”
Her message emphasised that children have the right to distance themselves from parents or relatives who hurt them or repeatedly make them feel guilty.
“Peace of mind is more important than family image,” she wrote, underlining that no one is obligated to maintain ties with toxic family members.
Prioritizing happiness over family image
Trishala added that when parents prioritize preserving the family’s external reputation over their children’s happiness, it creates long-term emotional harm.
She urged that individuals should not feel compelled to engage with people who consistently cause them pain, even if those people raised them.
Trishala’s personal journey
Trishala Dutt, born in 1988 to Sanjay Dutt and his first wife, actress Richa Sharma, lost her mother to a brain tumor in 1996. She has since lived with her maternal grandparents in the US. Despite living away from Bollywood’s spotlight, she often makes headlines with her candid and introspective social media posts.
Recently, on her birthday (August 10), Sanjay Dutt shared a heartfelt post for his daughter, writing: “Always proud of you, always love you.”
After Richa Sharma’s passing, Sanjay Dutt married Rhea Pillai in 1998, though the two divorced in 2008. He is now married to Manyata Dutt, with whom he has twins, Shahran and Aqra.
On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt was last seen in Housefull 5. His upcoming projects include the Kannada film KD: The Devil, Telugu films The Raja Saab and Akhanda 2, and Hindi films Baaghi 4 and Dhurandhar.
