The federal government has finalised the names of officers to be posted as Press Counsellors and Press Attachés in several countries, with formal postings set to begin following the Prime Minister’s approval, reliable sources confirmed Wednesday.

The Ministry of Information has already sent the summary to the Prime Minister’s Office for a final green signal.

Among the notable postings:

United States (Washington): Fatima Sheikh, a Grade-19 officer of the Information Group currently serving as Executive Director at PTV, has been nominated as Press Counsellor. She will replace Sarfaraz Hussain.

India (New Delhi): Zill-e-Huma, currently PRO to the Governor of Punjab, has been finalised.

Germany: Dr. Sohail Aftab has been nominated to replace Hina Malik of the Information Group.

Russia: Shaheedullah Khan has been proposed for the Press Counsellor’s slot.

Bangladesh: Zubia Masood, DG Advertisement, has been named, replacing Fasiullah Khan.
