Pakistan secures 30,000 tons of sugar in global tender

HAMBURG: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has finalised the purchase of 30,000 metric tons of white sugar in its latest international tender, which originally sought offers for about 200,000 tons, European traders said on Tuesday.

The initial deal was reportedly struck with Al Khaleej Sugar for medium-grade sugar at an estimated $582.50 per ton, cost and freight (c&f).

Traders noted that the validity of remaining offers submitted in the tender has been extended until Wednesday (today), raising the likelihood of additional purchases in the coming days.

Market assessments suggest that further estimates of prices and volumes could still emerge as negotiations continue.
