A total of 122 dengue virus cases have been reported in the federal capital, Islamabad, in recent days, prompting an alert from the District Health Office (DHO).
According to the DHO spokesperson, a majority of the patients had recently travelled to Murree. The accumulation of stagnant rainwater following recent downpours is believed to have contributed to the increase in cases.
Residents have been advised to take preventive measures, including ensuring that water does not collect around their homes, and to cover plant pots, tanks and containers.
The spokesperson advised that using mosquito nets and repellents is essential for protection against the virus.
