The momentum surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) investment in the United States has continued into 2025, building on the significant growth experienced in the previous year.
According to TechCrunch, in 2024, 49 startups secured funding rounds of $100 million or more, with three companies completing multiple mega-rounds and seven raising sums of $1 billion or above. As 2025 enters its final quarter, this trend shows no signs of slowing, with several billion-dollar rounds already announced and multiple firms securing repeat mega-round investments.
The following is a chronological list of US-based AI startups that have raised at least $100 million in 2025:
August
EliseAI, a healthcare and housing automation platform, secured $250 million in a Series E round led by Andreessen Horowitz. The valuation reached $2.2 billion (announced 20 August).
Decart, an AI research laboratory, raised $100 million at a $3.1 billion valuation. The round, disclosed on 7 August, included Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Zeev Ventures.
July
Fal, a generative media platform, completed a $125 million Series C round led by Meritech Capital Partners. The valuation stood at $1.5 billion (announced 31 July).
Ambience Healthcare, developer of an AI healthcare operating system, raised $243 million in a Series C round led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz. Other participants included Kleiner Perkins and the OpenAI Startup Fund.
Reka AI secured $110 million in a Series B round, with Snowflake and Nvidia among the investors. The round, announced 22 July, valued the company at $1 billion.
Thinking Machines Lab, an AI research firm, raised $2 billion in a seed round announced on 15 July. The round, led by Andreessen Horowitz, included Nvidia, Accel, and AMD. Valuation: $12 billion.
OpenEvidence, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, raised $210 million at a $3.5 billion valuation. The Series B round, led by Kleiner Perkins and GV, was announced on 15 July.
Harmonic, focused on mathematical reasoning, raised $100 million in a Series B round led by Kleiner Perkins. The valuation was $875 million (announced 10 July).
June
Abridge, a healthcare AI unicorn, raised $300 million in a Series E round led by Andreessen Horowitz, valuing the company at $5.3 billion. Khosla Ventures also participated.
Harvey, an AI provider for legal services, raised its second $300 million round of 2025 on 23 June. The Series E round was co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Coatue; valuation: $5 billion.
Tennr, a healthcare AI startup, completed a $101 million Series C round led by IVP. Other backers included Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV, and Andreessen Horowitz. Valuation: $605 million.
Glean, an enterprise search startup, raised $150 million in a Series F round led by Wellington Management. Participants included Sequoia and Lightspeed. The company is now valued at $7.25 billion.
Anysphere, the AI research company behind Cursor, raised $900 million in a Series C round led by Thrive Capital. The valuation is nearly $10 billion.

Snorkel AI, a data labelling startup, raised $100 million in a Series D round led by Addition. Valuation: $1.3 billion.
LMArena, a benchmarking platform for AI models, completed a $100 million seed round on 21 May, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and UC Investments. Valuation: $600 million.
TensorWave, based in Las Vegas, raised $100 million in a Series A round co-led by Magnetar Capital and AMD Ventures.

SandboxAQ, an AI model firm, completed a $450 million Series E round on 4 April, valuing the company at $5.7 billion. Investors included Nvidia, Google, and Ray Dalio.
Runway, an AI company specialising in media production, raised $308 million in a Series D round led by General Atlantic. Valuation: $3 billion.

OpenAI raised a record-breaking $40 billion in funding, with a resulting valuation of $300 billion. The round, closed on 31 March, was led by SoftBank.
Nexthop AI raised $110 million in a Series A round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Insilico Medicine, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, raised $110 million in a Series E round co-led by Value Partners and Pudong Chuangtou. Valuation: $1 billion.
