Hadiqa Kiani wants people to take alerts seriously as rivers swell

Hadiqa Kiani has urged residents along the Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab rivers to evacuate immediately for their safety.

In an Instagram video message, Hadiqa appealed for urgent action and warned people against delaying evacuation efforts.

She emphasised taking alerts seriously because rising river levels and continued rainfall pose immediate life-threatening risks.

Authorities have issued evacuation orders for settlements near these three rivers and mobilised rescue resources rapidly.

The army has been deployed in eight districts, including Lahore, Kasur, Narowal, and Faisalabad, to assist evacuations.

Hadiqa urged families to prioritise lives over possessions, reminding them that belongings can be replaced but lives cannot.

She specifically advised taking essential documents, cash, and medications and relocating to community shelters or higher ground immediately.

Hadiqa reminded followers of her previous relief work and said collective action can save many lives during crises.

Previously, her Vaseela campaign in 2022 provided targeted assistance in Balochistan following devastating floods that destroyed thousands of homes.

She urged donors to support relief agencies and called on volunteers to assist local authorities in distribution and rescue efforts.

Hadiqa Kiani called on provincial and federal authorities to ensure that fuel, electricity, and communications are maintained for relief operations.

She concluded her appeal by urging immediate action and praying for the safety and recovery of affected communities nationwide.
