PBC defends Usman Wazeer, rejects allegations by Professional Boxing Federation

The Pakistan Boxing Council (PBC) has come forward in the defense of national boxer Usman Wazeer, terming the charges levelled by Pakistan Professional Boxing Federation (PPBF) against him as baseless and politically motivated.

In a statement, the PBC declared that it has no affiliation with the PPBF, describing it as a “self-styled organization” without any legal mandate in professional boxing.

The council firmly stated that Usman Wazir’s professional record, titles, and achievements are fully recognized and legal under international systems.

The PBC accused the PPBF and similar amateur bodies of deliberately misleading the public by questioning the legitimacy of Wazeer’s career.

It argued that such organizations have no authority to regulate or interfere in professional boxing, which is overseen globally by officially recognized sanctioning bodies.

“Unrecognized or parallel organizations cannot cast doubt on the career growth of an athlete whose achievements are acknowledged by the global boxing community,” the PBC said.

“The statements targeting Usman Wazeer are not based on facts; they are designed to harm his reputation and hinder the progress of professional boxing in Pakistan.”

The council further noted that such propaganda damages not only the athletes but also the image of Pakistan in the international sports arena.

It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting champions like Wazeer through principles of justice, transparency, and international recognition.

Usman Wazeer, regarded as Pakistan’s most promising boxing talent, remains unbeaten in his professional career with 17 international victories.
