Islamabad extends Section 144, bans gatherings, processions, and drone flights for two months

The federal capital administration has extended Section 144 for another two months, imposing a sweeping ban on 12 types of activities, including political gatherings, processions, and wall chalking.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, the prohibitions also cover stone crushing, illegal oil and gas agencies, use of loudspeakers and sound systems, and the display of weapons.

The administration has further banned fireworks and their sale, boating at Rawal Dam, and the use of newspapers for packaging goods.

Flying drones and even storing clean water in bulk have also been declared unlawful under the extended order.

Officials said the restrictions, which come into effect immediately, aim to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in the capital.
