Some federal government departments have been found not complying with the orders issued from the President House, it was reported on Tuesday.
And despite the fact that the President House as well as the Cabinet Division, through a special office memorandum, have barred all government departments from challenging the orders given by the president in courts, still one of these departments, PMDC, has moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against one such order.
The president had given relief to a complainant against the federal ombudsman’s decision and ordered the PMDC to comply with its order within 30 days.
However, the department challenged the president’s order in the IHC.
On the other hand, Irfan Qadir, a legal adviser at the President’s House, has said that the president is the executive authority of the federation, and all federal ministries and departments are subordinate to the federation. “Nowhere in the world do we witness ministries and departments going against the orders of their president. Pakistan is the only exception where such things happen,” Irfan has said and added that defying the presidential order shows a bad intention on the part of the government.
People, he went on to say, got relief from the President House, but the government wanted them to suffer.
“What is the situation in our courts is an open secret. It takes ages for people to get justice,” the legal adviser has said.
