The price of gold in Pakistan rose sharply on Saturday, with 24-karat gold gaining Rs1,900 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).
The new rate for 24K gold per tola stands at Rs397,700, marking a significant increase compared to the previous day.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24K gold climbed by Rs1,629 to reach Rs340,963, while 10 grams of 22K gold rose by Rs1,493, settling at Rs312,560.
International gold prices also climb
The upward movement in local prices follows a surge in the international market, where gold rose by $19 per ounce, reaching $3,759.
Analysts attribute the rise to global market volatility, currency fluctuations, and investor interest in safe-haven assets.
Silver prices record increase too
Silver also saw gains in the domestic market.
- 24K silver per tola rose by Rs105 to Rs4,704.
- 10 grams of silver increased by Rs90, now priced at Rs4,032.
- In the international market, silver gained $1.05, reaching $46.05 per ounce.
