The Punjab government has chalked out a new strategy to provide relief to consumers in electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The provincial government has decided to set up a new laboratory where the instruments of battery and fan manufacturing units will be tested and hence energy will be conserved.
Besides that, there will be an upgradation of solar testing labs.
An amount of Rs160 million will be released for the feasibility of the project.
The concerned officials have said that markets are awash with poor-quality fans and batteries, and the new laboratory will help test their quality.
Electrical appliances of quality will help conserve electricity, they have hoped.
