ICC rankings: Saim Ayub becomes world No 1 T20 all-rounder

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest T20 player rankings, bringing major shifts for both Pakistan and India.

Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has become the world’s No 1 T20 all-rounder, overtaking India’s Hardik Pandya, who has now slipped to second place.

According to the new update, Saim Ayub rose four places to take the number one spot among T20 all-rounders. His consistent performances have now placed him ahead of Hardik Pandya, who had long held the top position.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz also climbed four places, securing the 13th position, while Faheem Ashraf moved up four places to reach 35th spot in the all-rounder rankings.

Indian star Abhishek Sharma sets world record

 

On the batting side, India’s Abhishek Sharma made history, becoming the first player to achieve 931 rating points in T20I batting rankings. This achievement cements him as the world’s No 1 T20 batsman.

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan also made a significant jump, rising 11 places to 13th in the batting charts. However, former captain Babar Azam dropped to 37th, while Mohammad Rizwan slipped to 41st. Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman gained six spots to reach 60th position.

Bowlers’ rankings: Varun Chakaravarthy leads; Pakistan make gains

 

In the T20 bowling rankings, India’s Varun Chakaravarthy retained the No 1 spot. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed slipped three places to 7th, while Shaheen Shah Afridi made a strong comeback, climbing 12 places to 13th position.
