Zhalay Sarhadi delighted her fans as she grooved to viral Indian songs, showing her mood swings.
Taking to her Instagram, the Guru star shared a hilarious video in the first part of which, she gave off a melancholic vibe. In the latter part, she immediately shifted the vibe and started grooving to an upbeat Bollywood song.
In the caption, she blamed her mood swings on hormones, saying, “It’s just how it is with raging Hormones.”
Last month, Zhalay made headlines as she got candid about the misogynistic attitudes surrounding women’s independence and the casting couch culture that still lurks in Pakistan’s entertainment industry in the podcast, Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt.
The conversation took a serious turn when Butt brought up a popular mindset in Pakistan that “aurat ki kamayi mein barkat nahi hoti” — the belief that a woman’s earnings are not as blessed or fruitful as a man’s.
“I’ve funded my own education, my own wedding, and bought my own car,” Sarhadi said firmly. “So I don’t see how my earnings are any less abundant than a man’s.”
She also revealed that at the start of her career as an actress, she was once told that to land a role of her choice, she would have to “sleep with someone.”
She shared that in response, she lost it. “I told them I’m doing this to fund my education, and if anyone approaches me like that again, I’ll slap them.”
Zhalay explained that she had to push back against inappropriate behavior from the start of her career. “I also had to give a shut-up call in the beginning to a couple of people. I faced it,” she said.
