Engagement with Saudi FM
In a separate call, Ishaq Dar spoke with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to review recent diplomatic engagements between Arab-Islamic countries and the United States held in New York.
The discussion centered on strategies to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and ensure humanitarian access for civilians in Gaza. Ishaq Dar praised Saudi Arabia’s constructive diplomatic role and reaffirmed Pakistan’s backing of regional peace initiatives.
Both leaders also discussed Hamas’s recent response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan, viewing it as a positive step toward ending the bloodshed. They reiterated their commitment to the Palestinian cause and agreed to coordinate with Arab and Islamic partners and the international community to advance a two-state solution for lasting peace.
The Deputy PM reaffirmed that Pakistan remains firmly aligned with efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just resolution of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution — the establishment of an independent State of Palestine within the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
