Asia Cup trophy likely to be handed over to India in November

The Asia Cup 2025 trophy is likely to be formally handed over to India in the first week of November, according to sources within the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The ACC has reportedly informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the development and proposed November 10 as the date for the trophy presentation ceremony.

BCCI-ACC correspondence

Sources said the ACC responded to a letter sent by the Indian board, which had earlier written to ACC President Mohsin Naqvi regarding the pending handover of the Asia Cup trophy.

In its reply, the ACC clarified that it never refused to give the trophy to the Indian team, maintaining its earlier stance that the Indian representatives should visit the ACC office to receive it formally.

“The ACC has invited the Indian board to come on November 10 for the official handover,” the source confirmed.

Background

It may be recalled that after the Asia Cup final, the Indian team declined to receive the trophy directly from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, citing scheduling and logistical issues at the time.

The latest communication suggests that the matter is now close to resolution, with both sides expected to finalize the ceremony details soon.
