Dairy farmers announced increase in prices of cow and buffalo milk from Rs15 to Rs20 per litre with effect from November 1, 2025 in Lahore, it was reported on Wednesday.
This is the second major increase in milk prices recorded during the six months.
A notification issued by the Lahore deputy commissioner for fixing the milk prices became useless after this announcement.
The dairy farmers announced an increase of Rs20 per liter in buffalo milk and Rs15 per liter in cow milk.
The wholesale rate of buffalo milk will reach to Rs240 wholesale and Rs270 in the retail market. Cow milk will be available in the wholesale market at Rs190 and Rs210 per liter in retail.
It is necessary to mention here that Rs10 was increased in milk prices during the month of May 2025.
According to the deputy commissioner’s price list, cow milk is being sold at Rs170 per liter. The new prices will bring a difference of Rs100 in government and market rates.
