Lollywood veteran Moammar Rana is ready to set the stage ablaze as he brings his iconic blockbuster Choorian to life in a live theatre adaptation, but the announcement has stirred mixed reactions online, particularly over the absence of his legendary co-star Saima Noor.
The news sent shockwaves after Galaxy Lollywood confirmed on Instagram that Rana will make his theatre debut with “Yeh Choorian”, a stage play inspired by the record-breaking 1998 film that ruled hearts.
“Lollywood superstar Moammar Rana is all set to make his theatre debut this Friday with ‘Yeh Choorian’, a stage adaptation of Moammar’s blockbuster film ‘Choorian’.” the entertainment outlet announced.
The play is written and directed by comedy king Naseem Vicky, who will also perform alongside Akram Udas and Manahil Khan.
The performance is set to take place at Lahore’s Mehfil Theatre, promising a rollercoaster of emotions, laughter, and nostalgia.
The comments section of Galaxy Lollywood’s post was soon flooded with backlash.
Netizens came down hard on Maommar Rana for taking Choorian to the theatre stage without Saima Noor, calling it a “disrespect to the legacy.”
One user wrote, “Well, that’s a new low for him after the embarrassing film premiere appearance.”
Another remarked, “Come on! You’re a star. Why don’t you create something original in movies or drama? This field is so dirty, why are you entering here?”
