The Karachi Traffic Police have intensified their enforcement drive, targeting heavy traffic violators following recent action against private light vehicles, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
Over the past four days, authorities have issued 416 e-challans, according to officials.
Fines amounting to more than Rs8.1 million have been imposed as part of the ongoing campaign to curb traffic violations and improve road discipline across the city.
Among the vehicles fined were 25 dumpers, 39 trucks, 104 water tankers, four oil tankers, two buses, and three cranes, the officials added.
The operation, spearheaded by DIG Traffic Mairaj Sheikh, seeks to ensure strict compliance with traffic laws and restrict the movement of heavy vehicles during peak hours and in prohibited zones.
The authorities have also deployed special monitoring teams to track repeat offenders and maintain the safe and smooth flow of traffic across Karachi’s main arteries.
