Ayushmann Khurrana says he charged just Re1 for hit movie ‘Andhadun’

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has revealed that he charged only one rupee as his fee for his blockbuster film Andhadhun.

In a recent interview, Ayushmann shared that after the film’s massive success – particularly its extraordinary reception in China — he later received a share from the film’s profits.

At a time when the film industry is debating actors’ rising fees and heavy budgets, Ayushmann has distanced himself from that race. Many filmmakers have expressed concern that some actors’ fees consume 60 to 70 percent of a film’s total budget.

However, Ayushmann describes himself as a producer-friendly actor, saying, “For me, Goddess Saraswati (knowledge) comes before Goddess Lakshmi (wealth). My goal is always the success of the film. If the movie performs well, then the actor deserves more.”

He further added that he leaves matters of fee negotiation to his management team. “I’m a Punjabi with an artistic mind – numbers and calculations aren’t really my thing,” the actor remarked with a smile.
