CM Maryam vows support for setting up Google Chrome Book Factory

A delegation from Google for Education and Tech Valley called on Maryam Nawaz in Lahore on Monday and discussed various issues.

The delegation included Global Director Kavin Kalis and the CIO of Tech Valley Umar Farooq.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured all-out support for the establishment of the Google Chrome Book Factory in Punjab.

Three big and important software packages will be installed in Google Chrome. An artificial intelligence toolkit and AI Gemini will also be installed for the students.

“Read Along” software for English learning will also be available on Google Chromebooks. Google Chromebook will also include “KenWa” software.

The delegation lauded the visionary mission of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to provide the latest education to special children through information technology.

The delegation from Google for Education briefed the Chief Minister about the project. The delegation said that more than 2,000 teachers will be given training.

The delegation said that Google for Education is also working to provide IT training to the students of government teachers.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that “the Punjab government is working to declare IT education mandatory for basic education”.

The Chief Minister said that “Punjab will become a hub of artificial intelligence.”
