Gold prices surge by Rs1,300 per tola in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices have seen an upward movement in both domestic and international markets on Monday.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Association, the price of gold in the local market increased by Rs1,300 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs423,862.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,115, reaching Rs363,393. In the international market, gold also recorded a gain of $13 per ounce, with the new price set at $4,015 per ounce.

This comes just two days after the local gold price fell by Rs1,600 per tola to Rs422,562.

On the other hand, silver also saw a rise, with the per tola price increasing by Rs25 to Rs5,152.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened the first trading day of the business week on a positive note, with the benchmark index showing a notable gain.

The KSE-100 index opened at 162,801.48 points, marking an increase of 1,169.75 points, or 0.72 percent, compared to the previous close of 161,631.73 points.
Investors appeared optimistic at the start of the week, driving early gains across the market.
