Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan received overwhelming support from across the globe due to extensive diplomatic efforts during stand-off with India in May this year.
Addressing a seminar titled” Pakistan’s Diplomatic Achievements”, in Islamabad on Monday, he lauded the services of all the former and serving diplomats and ambassadors who rendered great services for Pakistan.
He said despite meager resources, our diplomats kept the national flag high and they contributed immensely for the country. He said the nation will remember the services of all those who bagged successes for Pakistan at the diplomatic front. He said diplomacy is an art that cannot be learnt overnight.
The Information Minister said in the recent stand-off with India, our friendly countries supported Pakistan. He said the valiant armed forces always gave a firm and effective response whenever war was imposed on us.
Turning to the Prime Minister’s recent successful visit to Saudi Arabia, Attaullah Tarar said the launch of the Economic Strategic Framework during the Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia is a very significant development. He said now it is our goal to promote foreign investment in the country.
The Information Minister said maintaining strong ties with Central Asian states and the use of Pakistani ports for trade are among the foremost priorities of the government.
Attaullah Tarar expressed the resolve that we will have to reach new heights at the economic front and to further cement economic and trade ties with our friendly countries.
