Salman Khan faces legal trouble over pan masala advertisement

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again landed in legal trouble after being accused of promoting pan masala brand.

As per details the Kota Consumer Court has issued a notice to Salman Khan for pan masala advertisement.

The complaint was filed by Inder Mohan Singh Huni, a senior BJP leader and Rajasthan High Court lawyer, who alleged that Salman Khan and the concerned company had misled consumers through false advertising claims.

According to the complaint, Rajshree Pan Masala claims in its advertisements that its product contains “saffron-blended cardamom” and “saffron-flavored pan masala.” However, the petitioner argued that such claims are impossible and deceptive, given that saffron costs nearly ₹4 lakh per kilogram, making it unrealistic for such an ingredient to be part of a product sold for just ₹5.

Huni further alleged that the advertisement encourages the youth to consume pan masala, a product often linked to oral cancer.

Speaking to the media, he said, “Salman Khan is a role model for millions. We have filed a complaint in the Kota Consumer Court, which has now issued a notice to him. In many countries, celebrities avoid endorsing even soft drinks, but here film stars are promoting harmful products like tobacco and pan masala.”

As per court records, the Kota Consumer Court has sought a formal response from Salman Khan. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for November 27.
