Reacting to Tuesday’s suicide attack outside Islamabad’s G-11 District Courts, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan possesses the full strength and resolve to respond to Indian-sponsored Afghan proxy terrorism.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the defence minister said in a statement shared on social media X, “We are in a state of war. Anyone who thinks that the Pakistan Army is fighting this war only along the Afghan border or in remote areas of Balochistan should take today’s suicide attack in Islamabad as a wake-up call. This is a war for all of Pakistan, in which the Pakistan Army is making daily sacrifices to ensure the safety of its people.”
He further added that in the current situation, it would be unrealistic to expect successful negotiations with the rulers in Kabul. “The rulers of Kabul can stop terrorism in Pakistan, but bringing this war to Islamabad is a message from Kabul, to which—praise be to God—Pakistan has the full strength to respond,” he said.
Earlier in the day, at least twelve people were martyred and twenty-seven others injured when a suicide bomber detonated himself outside the G-11 Kutchehry (District Courts) in Islamabad.
According to initial reports, the attacker was riding a motorcycle and blew himself up near a police vehicle at around 12:39 pm. The severed head of the bomber was later found on the road close to the court building.
Eyewitnesses said that soon after the explosion, flames engulfed the motorcycle and nearby vehicles, damaging several cars and motorbikes parked in the vicinity. The injured, some in critical condition, were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the attack was carried out by militants belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij, an organization described by security officials as an Indian-sponsored proxy operating through the Afghan Taliban.
Reports suggested that on one side, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was staging a false-flag event in New Delhi, and on the other hand, his proxies, the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khwarij, were responsible for orchestrating terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including the one on Cadet College Wana earlier and now the bombing outside the Islamabad courts.
It is worth recalling that following the explosion in New Delhi, Indian media outlets reacted with hysteria, hastily accusing Pakistan of involvement without presenting evidence. However, social media users in both countries and abroad dismissed these claims, rejecting India’s attempt to shift blame.
