The Lahore’s Banking Crimes Court has sentenced a group found guilty of withdrawing money through ATM fraud.
Judge Tariq Javed Chaudhry delivered the verdict. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore had registered the case in 2013. The offenders had unlawfully withdrawn hundreds of thousands of rupees from citizens’ accounts by using counterfeit ATM cards.
The court sentenced Mudassar Ghafoor and Waqas Yaseen to seven years’ imprisonment each, while Madiha Ghafoor received 16 years in prison. Following the announcement of the verdict, the convicts were taken into custody in the courtroom and sent to jail.
