Indian actress and singer Shehnaaz Gill has responded to widespread social media speculation claiming that she is related to Indian cricketer Shubman Gill.
The actress clarified that despite sharing the same Punjabi surname, the two are not related by blood.
The rumours surfaced as both celebrities hail from Punjab’s city of Amritsar and enjoy massive popularity in their respective fields.
However, Shubman Gill—who represents India in international cricket—has only one elder sister, Shahneel Gill, who is often seen alongside him on social media platforms.
Shehnaaz Gill humorously addressed the matter, saying they might be “distant relatives from the same Amritsar side,” while also calling Shubman a “lovely person” and “a good player.”
Shehnaaz rose to fame after appearing on Bigg Boss Season 13, and later featured in several hit music videos before making her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.”
