Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal has opened up about his first meeting with Katrina Kaif, revealing that comedian Sunil Grover was the one who introduced them.
Appearing on a show, the Sam Bahadur actor shared endearing details about how his journey with Katrina began long before their wedding.
Vicky recalled that he first met Katrina during an award show where he was hosting and she was performing. “The first time I met her was at an award show I was hosting. I performed Chikni Chameli with her on stage, and later, when we went backstage, Sunil Grover introduced us,” he said with a smile.
Interestingly, that first conversation turned out to be a memorable one. “Within five minutes of meeting me, Katrina started giving me a tutorial on how to host a show, even though I had already finished hosting and just had to go back to say goodnight!” Vicky laughed.
Second Encounter that went viral
Their next meeting happened at another award ceremony, which turned into a light-hearted yet unforgettable moment. As part of a scripted segment, Vicky jokingly proposed to Katrina on stage.
“During the second award show, I asked her, ‘Why don’t you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?’ However, we were not dating then,” he clarified.
The moment quickly went viral across social media, sparking rumors about their chemistry — which, as fate would have it, soon blossomed into a real-life romance.
During the same conversation, Vicky shared another sweet detail about their early days. He revealed that before they got married, Katrina once recorded herself singing a Punjabi song she loved.
“She thought it was a romantic song,” Vicky said, recalling how her gesture reflected her affection for Punjabi culture — something that deepened their connection even more.
After years of speculation and much-loved public appearances, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot on December 9, 2021, in an intimate wedding ceremony that became one of Bollywood’s most talked-about events.
Recently, on November 7, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy — marking a new chapter in their journey together.
