Another facilitator arrested in Islamabad Judicial Complex suicide attack case

ISLAMABAD: Another key facilitator, involved in Islamabad Judicial Complex suicide attack, arrested, sources confirmed on Saturday.

According to sources, the arrested suspect played a crucial role in assisting the suicide bomber. Intelligence agencies also detained the tailor who worked on the explosive vest used in the attack. Officials revealed that the suicide jacket was prepared in Peshawar, where the explosive materials were also delivered before assembly.

Investigators learned that the facilitator transported the completed suicide jacket from Peshawar by concealing it inside a sack of jaggery. After bringing it to Islamabad, he hid the jacket under a tree for three days to avoid detection. The jacket was then taken to a tailor for adjustments, and sources claim the tailor was fully aware that the vest was meant for a suicide attack.

The arrest of another facilitator has opened new leads in the investigation. Officials say that more important revelations are expected as interrogation continues. The detained suspect has reportedly confessed to having ties with Fitna al-Khawarij, the extremist network believed to be behind the attack.

Security officials say the recent arrests indicate that the network supporting the suicide bomber was larger than initially believed, with multiple individuals providing logistical and operational support.

Authorities are continuing efforts to track down all individuals involved in planning, facilitating, and executing the attack. Investigators remain confident that further arrests will help dismantle the remaining elements of the militant cell responsible.
