In her post, she opened up about how she chooses her projects, saying: “If there’s a drama that promises numbers but will have zero impact, I would never pick it.”
Expanding on this in an interview, she emphasized that ratings were temporary and meaningful content was her priority.
“Context is everything. I was explicitly asked if I’d choose a drama with impact or numbers. Of course, I said impact – but honestly, the impact created is not my doing alone,” she said.
“It’s the genius of my directors, my writers, and producers. I can only pray and hope to get good scripts and the ability to make the right choices.”
Marwa acknowledged that not every project can achieve the same level of success as Jafaa, Nauroz, or Jama Taqseem, but she remains committed to authenticity and learning along the way:
“I’m sure I’ll make mistakes; not every drama will be Jama Taqseem or Nauroz, but I’ll try. And I also hope to do some fun projects while I’m at it. Never say never.”
However, she drew a firm line when it comes to compromising her values:
“The only thing I’ll never do is a project that’s detrimental to society, a gender, or a class – that’s all.”
