King of Jordan is undertaking a two day state visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During his visit, King Abdullah will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meetings, complete range of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries will be discussed.

A special investiture ceremony to confer the highest civilian award upon His Majesty will also take place at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

This high-level visit reflects the longstanding, fraternal relations between Pakistan and Jordan.

The visit will serve to further strengthen the strategic direction of Pakistan-Jordan relations and place them on a higher trajectory, encompassing a comprehensive and broad-based partnership in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.

It will be King Abdullah II’s first visit to Pakistan since his trip during the tenure of former president Mamnoon Hussain, when the two nations signed agreements on civil protection, defence cooperation and collaboration in the housing sector.

The latest visit comes weeks after the Jordanian King praised the professionalism of the Pakistan armed forces during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir in Amman.
