Bilawal vows to honour promises made with Kashmiri people

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced that the promises made to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) people would be fulfilled, it was reported on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering at the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore in Muzaffarabad, Bilawal said the formation of a PPP government in AJK and the swearing-in of its new prime minister marked a significant step forward.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto claimed that the party’s mandate in the Kashmir region had been stolen “not once, but twice” under a deliberate conspiracy.

Bilawal Bhutto said that previous political decisions had created a vacuum in Azad Kashmir, stressing that the PPP would not run the government “from behind closed doors”.

He also vowed to foil “every conspiracy” of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recalling Pakistan’s downing of seven Indian warplanes and asserting that after the May War between the two countries, Modi was now “hiding his face from the world.”

The PPP chairman attended the ceremony alongside his aunt, Faryal Talpur, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi.
